Unfinished interior of a Mallorcan house with bare plaster and a deep window reveal in daylight

Frequently Asked Questions

How the site works, what it costs, and what happens to what you send. If something here is unclear or missing, the contact form is where to say so.

How this works

What does this site do?

It takes one description of a renovation and passes it to companies on Mallorca that work in your area and take on that kind of job. They contact you directly with their own quotes. The site does not carry out the work.

What does it cost me?

Nothing, at any point. There is no fee for sending a request, no charge for the quotes, and no commission taken from whatever you agree with a company.

Do companies pay to be listed?

No. Nobody pays to be compared, and paying would defeat the purpose: the point of the comparison is that the ordering is not for sale.

Am I obliged to accept a quote?

No. Take one, take none, or stop replying. Sending a request commits you to nothing.

Is there a phone number?

Not at the moment. Everything runs by email, which also means the description of your project stays written down rather than half-remembered from a call.

The companies on the list

Do you vet the companies?

Companies are selected rather than accepted automatically. What the site does not do is publish reviews, ratings or scores, because a rating nobody can audit is worth less than nothing.

How many quotes will I get?

Several rather than all of them, and only from companies that cover your area and take on your size of job. A very unusual, very small or very remote job attracts fewer replies, which is information in itself.

How long does it take to hear back?

It varies by company, by season and by how far the property is from them, so it is better not to promise a number. The winter months are the busiest for renovation work on the island.

What if something goes wrong with the work?

The agreement is between you and the company you chose, so that is who it is resolved with. Telling us is still useful, because it affects who future requests go to.

What you send

Can I ask about a property I have not bought?

Yes, and it is one of the more useful things you can do. Pricing the work before completion is when the answer can still change what you offer or whether you buy at all.

What happens to my details?

They go to the companies your request is passed to, so that they can contact you about the project, and that is what the consent box on the form is agreeing to. The Privacy Policy sets out the rest.

Can I change or delete my request?

Yes. Use the contact form and say so. Companies that have already received it will have their own copies, and the Privacy Policy explains how that works.

Still have a question?

The contact form takes anything this page does not answer, and asking costs nothing.
